Cyberport's Supercomputing Centre and other AI Initiatives
Led by the IDC Committee, the Chamber hosted “The Road to 6G: Redefining Business with Future Connectivity” seminar on 27 June, in collaboration with the British Chamber of Commerce (BritCham) and the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham).
Moderated by Terence Wong, Head of APAC 5G Industry & IoT at GSMA, the event featured discussions with Elsa Wong, Managing Director of NEC Hong Kong, Stephen Tsang, Chief Revenue Officer at NTT Com Asia, and Chung Ng, Head of Technology & Strategy at PCCW.
The panellists explored critical advancements and new features of 6G, such as improved data latency rates, ubiquitous connectivity, integrated sensing networks, and enhanced energy efficiency.
The seminar also delved into the potential for new business-use cases and applications in IoT, robotics, autonomous vehicles, AI and immersive augmented reality, highlighting the key steps governments and businesses must take to facilitate a smooth transition to 6G.
Additionally, the discussion highlighted Hong Kong’s strategic role and the key elements necessary to foster a thriving local and global 6G ecosystem.
