Hong Kong’s skies could soon become a new frontier for innovation, with drones and unmanned vehicles transforming how we move people and goods. On 17 October, the Smart City Working Group held a talk exploring the potential of the low-altitude economy.

Moderated by Patrick Lee, Convenor of the Smart City Working Group, the panel featured expert insights from Steven Lui, Technical Director of Traffic and Transport Planning at AECOM, Harris Sun, CEO & Founder of RaSpect and Kevin Leung, Director in Government & Public Sector Consulting of PwC. They also shared perspectives on the opportunities and challenges this new landscape presents for Hong Kong and the GBA.

The session also covered the underlying ecosystem, incentives from GBA authorities to drive growth, and the latest developments in electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) technology.
