The Road to 6G: Redefining Business with Future Connectivity
Led by the Innovation, Data & Communication Committee, the Chamber hosted “The Road to 6G: Redefining Business with Future Connectivity” seminar on 27 June, in collaboration with the British Chamber of Commerce (BritCham) and the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham).
Moderated by Terence Wong, Head of APAC 5G Industry & IoT at GSMA, the event featured discussions with Elsa Wong, Managing Director of NEC Hong Kong Limited, Stephen Tsang, Chief Revenue Officer at NTT Com Asia, and Chung Ng, Head of Technology & Strategy at PCCW. Panelists explored critical advancements and new features of 6G, such as improved data latency rates, ubiquitous connectivity, integrated sensing networks, and enhanced energy efficiency. The seminar also explored the potential for new business use cases and applications in IoT, robotics, autonomous vehicles, AI, and immersive augmented reality, highlighting the key steps for governments and businesses to facilitate a smooth transition to 6G. Additionally, the discussion emphasized Hong Kong’s strategic role and key elements required to foster a thriving local and global 6G ecosystem.
