The Prospects of the 20th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party and China's Future
At the 20th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) held in mid-October, the party leadership laid out major policies to revitalize the country’s economy and cope with the increasingly challenging international environment. The latest amendments to the Constitution passed at the Congress reaffirmed the ruling party’s commitment to “fully, faithfully, and resolutely implement the policy of one country, two systems.” Anthony Wu, former Chamber Chairman and Member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee; Jeffrey Lam, the Chamber’s LegCo Representative and Member of the CPPCC National Committee; and Nick Chan, Chairman of the Chamber's Legal Committee, Hong Kong Deputy to National People's Congress and Vice Party Chairman of the Liberal Party, shared their insights on the Congress report at the Chamber seminar held on 7 November.
