Sue Toomey, Executive Director of HandsOn Hong Kong, and Gabrielle Kirstein, Founder and CEO of Feeding Hong Kong, introduced members to their NGOs at a webinar on 29 April and discussed the philanthropy sector in Hong Kong with WEC Chairman Nikki Ng.

Toomey and Kirstein each delved into the charitable services that their organizations provide for Hong Kong, and discussed more broadly the different areas of need that the city currently faces. The discussion covered topics such as Hong Kong’s volunteering ecosystem and how people can get involved in charity work, as well as the food waste problems that Hong Kong faces. The speakers also provided insights into how their organizations have been connecting volunteers with restaurants, bakeries and supermarkets across the city to tackle these issues.
