With China’s 14th Five-Year Plan due to start next year, the Chamber invited Le Xia, Chief Economist and Head of Research at the Digital Economic Research Center of PingAn Technology, to share his insights into the prospects for the Chinese economy as well as the likely focus points of the new Five-Year Plan.
 
Le predicted the China’s growth target of next five years will be between 5-6%, and that the emphasis on domestic consumption would be increased. He also shared some figures showing how the Mainland economy has bounced back after getting the pandemic under control, with the recovery pace in investment and exports reaching 100% and 110% respectively.
