The second tranche of the Employment Support Scheme began to accept applications on 31 August. The Chamber was honoured that Dr Law Chi-kwong, Secretary for Labour and Welfare, again took the time to brief members on the latest updates to the scheme and to answer members’ questions, at a webinar on 1 September.

The first tranche approved $44.7 billion in subsidies, which secured 1.9 million jobs. The details of the second tranche are more or less the same as the first, but the second tranche has expanded coverage to employees over the age 65 with an MPF account.
