Luncheon with Dr Jane Goodall: Reasons for Hope
Dr Jane Goodall is best known for her study of chimpanzees' social and family life in Gombe Stream National Park. Her extraordinary life began in 1960, when she arrived on the shore of Lake Tanganyika in East Africa to study the chimpanzee population. She defied scientific convention by giving the Gombe chimps names instead of numbers, and insisted on the validity of her observations that animals have distinct personalities, minds and emotions. Through the years, She has changed and enriched the field of primatology. Dr Goodall spoke at the Chamber's roundtable luncheon on November 28 about her work, environmental conservation, and what every individual can do to help sustain our environment.
