Digital Economy Summit 2024
The Digital Economy Summit 2024 Smart Economy & Business Innovation Forum – ‘Innovators of the Digital Economy, Enterprises of the Future’ - was successfully held on 12 April 2024 afternoon at the Hong Kong Convention Centre.
The Chamber is honored to be co-organisers of the Forum alongside The Federation of Hong Kong Industries, Hong Kong Young Industrialists Council, The Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, The Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association, and The Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong.
The event attracted a great audience and featured an afternoon of thought-provoking and insightful dialogues by our distinguished guests and expert speakers from Hong Kong and abroad.
Chamber CEO Patrick Yeung kicked off the event with his welcome remarks, which were followed by the delivery of opening remarks by Wang Xiujun, President of the China Internet Development Foundation, and Bernard Chan, Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development.
Ricky Leung, Executive Director, Engineering & Technology, Airport Authority Hong Kong, who delivered the keynote speech, discussed Hong Kong’s potentials in developing a future-proof sustainable business model in the digital economy and Airport Authority’s roles on this front.
A series of four panel discussions touched on business innovations brought about by immersive technologies, e-commerce transformations, digital infrastructure revolutions, and notable digital transformation strategies, where experts also shared their success stories in driving business growth and meeting evolving market demands. Guest panelists represented the following entities - NDN Group, Animoca Brands, Tess Ventures and Gaia Labs, PayPal Hong Kong, foodpanda Hong Kong, Yonyou (Hong Kong) Company, Paul Y (E&M) Contractors, Vita Green, PwC Hong Kong, Zurich Insurance Group, Lalamove, Television Broadcasts, Anxious Otter Games and NCS Group.
Peter Shum, Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries and Chairman of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries Group 25 (Hong Kong Information Technology Industry Council), delivered the closing remarks.
The Digital Economy Summit 2024, led by the Hong Kong SAR Government and Cyberport, is Hong Kong’s acclaimed I&T flagship event, and took place from 12-13 April 2024.
