On 27 August, members of the Innovation, Data and Communications Committee visited the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) as led by Fred Sheu, Committee Chairman. The event provided a deep dive into the HKPC’s advances in ‘new industrialisation’, including smart manufacturing, green technology, and digital transformation. Members were welcomed by HKPC’s Executive Director Mohamed Butt and Chief Marketing Officer Karen Fung, while Chief Ambassador Betty Fung and her team guided members through their state-of-the-art facilities. These included the Future Manufacturing Hall, which featured ‘new productive forces’ technologies driving flexible and sustainable production, and the Advanced Materials and Intelligent Manufacturing Centre, which promotes technological upgrades and business diversification for Hong Kong’s manufacturing sector.
