Past Events

Members enjoyed a guided visit of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University's School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) and its teaching and research hotel, Hotel ICON, on 27 July. Dean Kaye Chon of SHTM, who hosted the Chamber delegation, briefed members on the School’s mission on and approach to nurturing students to be future hospitality leaders before conducting a tour of the School’s broad range of training facilities and resources, which included the Chee-woo Lui Hotel and Tourism Resource Centre, Bistro 1979, Vinoteca Lab and Gallery of Honour. Members were also provided with the opportunity of visiting Hotel ICON to understand the hospitality industry’s response to operating under the ‘new normal’ of COVID-induced conditions.
