Annemieke Ruigrok, Consul General of the Netherlands, welcomed members to her home with a traditional Dutch apple tart and refreshments during a visit organized by the Europe Committee on 26 February.

The Consul General gave an overview of the Dutch business environment and also discussed some of the issues facing the country, including Brexit, which is a concern to the country’s SMEs in particular. She also highlighted the country’s sustainable development goals, which include working towards achieving a circular economy by 2050. During a guided tour of the residence, Consul General Ruigrok introduced the history and architecture of the beautiful building and some of the notable artworks.
