The Chamber Young Executives Club (YEC) partnered with HKU SPACE Executive Academy (SEA) this summer to organize an Executive Study Tour to San Francisco to gain an in-depth understanding of the latest transformation of innovations and technologies in the Silicon Valley. 20 members joined the 6-day programme which included business lectures, company visits, business networking, and cultural exploration. Members had some insightful exchanges with the executives during corporate visits to renowned technology companies including Google, Airbnb, and Tesla. Two entrepreneurship workshops were delivered at Stanford University and the INSEEC Business School to cover some key factors and leadership models that have proven successful and widely adopted in the Silicon Valley companies. In order to understand the ecosystem of start-up companies, members visited Plug and Play Tech Centre, one of largest innovation platforms for startup and corporate. At another Asia focused incubation hub, One Piece, presentations on Facebook marketing and data analysis, IoT applications and data-mining, technology for image capturing survey tools for teaching were given to members. Members found the programme comprehensive and fruitful with new insights gained from different perspectives to understanding how companies drive innovative business growth.
