Visit to the 137th Canton Fair

The 137th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), China’s longest-running trade exhibition, is renowned for its vast product diversity and record-breaking attendance. Held in phases from 15 April to 5 May, this edition featured over 30,000 exhibitors. Organized by the China Foreign Trade Centre, the Canton Fair is one of the world’s largest and most influential trade shows.

Thomas Su, Vice Chairman of the SME Committee, represented HKGCC at the fair’s opening ceremony on 14 April. The following day, he led a Chamber delegation to explore cutting-edge innovations across various industries, including service robotics, new energy vehicles, smart home appliances and other advanced technologies.

The delegation also attended the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Business Collaboration Luncheon on the same day, hosted by the Guangzhou Federation of Industry and Commerce. The event served as an excellent platform to strengthen business ties among industrial and commercial sectors in Hong Kong, Macau and Guangzhou.

Hong Kong Brands: Expanding into Asia

Angela Lee, Chairman of the Small and Medium Enterprise Committee, shared her insights on expanding her business from the local to the Asian market on 28 February. She highlighted the essential role of ambassadors and KOLs in navigating the digital age and inspired attendees with innovative ideas and strategies. The talk was followed by a networking session, refreshments, and a tour of Lee’s newly launched JaneClare Wellness Gallery.

SME Committee: LegCo Tour cum Lunch

HKGCC Legislative Council Representative Jeffrey Lam guided 17 SME Committee members on a tour of the Legislative Council complex. After the tour, the participants enjoyed a delightful lunch, which provided an opportunity for further exchanges about Hong Kong’s legislative system with Lam. The group also visited the complex’s educational galleries and viewing areas.

GBA Business Expansion Experience Tour

A visit to Shenzhen Qianhai and Futian on 23 January enabled members to learn about the latest policy developments in the Greater Bay Area and seize business opportunities there.
