Gateway to Lantau

As one of Hong Kong’s most well-known attractions, Ngong Ping 360 has earned widespread recognition and made top-10 lists such as “10 of the world’s most amazing cable car experiences” on CNN.com and “Cable cars: 10 amazing rides around the world” in the Daily Telegraph, among others.

Besides the cable car, the attraction also comprises Ngong Ping Village, which is located at the cable car terminal, and several performances and multimedia attractions, all of which are run by Ngong Ping 360 Ltd.

At the helm of the company is Stella Kwan, Managing Director of Ngong Ping 360 Ltd, who joined it in 2012 with a strong record in the tourism and retail industries.

Kwan had previously held senior management positions with major corporations, including the MTR Corporation, Jardine Matheson and Swire Pacific, and helped facilitate the establishment of foreign brands and businesses such as IKEA, Marathon Sports and Dymocks Booksellers in Hong Kong.

She holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of East Asia.

Under Kwan’s leadership, Ngong Ping 360 has launched a series of innovative ventures that have synergized the natural and cultural elements of Lantau Island to position it as the “Gateway to Lantau,” attracting visitors from all around the world.

Ngong Ping 360 Ltd joined the Chamber family in 2002, attracted by the Chamber’s local and international nature and its significant business representation. “The Chamber offers insights ranging from global business trends to the business environment in Hong Kong and Mainland China. It also organizes a wide selection of activities for members to broaden our networks and connections,” said Kwan.

Ngong Ping 360 supported the Chamber’s Business-School Partnership Programme in 2015. “It was our pleasure to help enhance the younger generation’s knowledge of the corporate world and better prepare them to serve our society in the future.

Not only did the participating students gain valuable experience from this programme, we also learned a lot by sharing our experiences with the future pillars of our society,” added Kwan.

In addition to running Ngong Ping 360, Kwan also engages in public service for the retail and tourism sectors, and for academia. She is a member of the Tourism Strategy Group under the Tourism Commission, Chairman of the Retail Trade Training Board of the Vocational Training Council, a Founding Director and Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Lantau Development Alliance, and an Executive Committee Member of the Hong Kong Advertisers Association.
