Andrew Brandler, Chief Executive Officer of CLP Holdings Ltd, has been elected Chairman of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC) for the coming year. Mr Brandler, who was previously Deputy Chairman of HKGCC, had served as acting Chairman since January following Dr Lily Chiang’s request for a leave of absence.
Succeeding Andrew Brandler as Deputy Chairman is Anthony Wu, Senior Advisor of Ernst & Young, who is also Chairman of the Hospital Authority and Bauhinia Foundation Research Centre. Mr Victor Li, Managing Director & Deputy Chairman of Cheung Kong (Holdings) Ltd, has been elected as Vice Chairman. The election was held at the inaugural meeting of the new General Committee immediately after the HKGCC’s Annual General Meeting on the evening of May 15.
The three Vice Chairmen are, respectively, He Guangbei, Vice Chairman & Chief Executive, Bank of China (Hong Kong) Ltd, Victor Li Managing Director & Deputy Chairman of Cheung Kong (Holdings) Ltd, and K K Yeung, Chairman of K K Yeung Management Consultants Ltd.
At the Annual General Meeting, members elected a total of seven members to fill the seats on the General Committee – the governing body of the Chamber – left vacant by those who have stepped down in accordance with the Articles of Association, including five incumbents, namely Andrew Brandler, He Guangbei, Raymond Kwok, Liu Guoyuan, and Y K Pang, and two new members Oscar Chow, Executive Director of Chevalier International Holdings Ltd, and Aron H Harilela, Director of Harilela's. Following is an updated list of General Committee.
