What's On

Stepping into a leadership role means every word is watched more closely, and every conversation can move performance, engagement, and trust either forward or backward. For many leaders and managers, the challenge is less about what they need to say and more about what happens in their mind: sustaining confidence when they are face to face with their team, peers, or senior stakeholders, especially in high stakes or uncomfortable discussions.

This course focuses on how to build confidence before key conversations, maintain it when discussions get uncomfortable, and express it in a way that feels steady rather than overbearing, so leaders can address issues early and keep relationships productive. Participants will learn practical routines to manage nerves, use body language and voice deliberately, and keep their messages clear and firm even when they need to challenge, align, or say things people may not want to hear—ultimately reducing avoidance, strengthening team alignment, and enabling faster, better business decisions.

Learning Objectives:
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
1. Prepare mentally and physically to enter leadership conversations with calm, grounded confidence.
2. Understand how confident, direct conversations reduce misunderstandings, and prevent further conflicts in teams.
3. Use posture, eye contact, and communication style to project a credible managerial presence.
4. Sustain confidence during tough moments such as disagreement, questioning, or pushback from team members or seniors.
5. Communicate expectations, feedback, and boundaries clearly without sounding hesitant or aggressive.
6. Close conversations with clear agreements and next steps that reinforce their role as a reliable leader.

Key Learning Points:
• The mindset shift from “individual contributor” to “leader whose voice sets direction, tone, and standards” in the team.
• Pre conversation confidence routines that align thinking, emotions, and behaviour before high stakes check ins, presentations, and stakeholder meetings.
• How leadership body language (how you sit, stand, and hold eye contact) supports a calm, authoritative presence in everyday interactions.
• Voice skills that signal authority and openness at the same time.
• Techniques for staying composed when questioned, criticised, or emotionally confronted, and keeping your leadership voice steady instead of reactive.
• Practice scenarios that require “leading with your voice”: setting expectations, addressing performance or behaviour issues, disagreeing with seniors, and backing decisions in person.

Target Audience:
Ideal for managers who want to communicate with greater confidence when facing challenges in meetings and navigate difficult conversations more effectively. The programme is also well suited to team leaders and emerging leaders preparing for people management roles.
