The 2026 Annual Sessions of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the National People’s Congress (NPC), together known as the “Two Sessions,” will open in Beijing on 4 March and 5 March, respectively. As China’s most important annual political event, the Two Sessions not only reviews the work of the past year but also sets the course for future policies and national strategies.

This year’s meetings are especially significant, as they will unveil the 15th Five-Year Plan. Discussions will focus on evaluating China’s high-quality development over the past five years and on addressing key issues, including technological and industrial advancement, financial stability, expanding domestic demand and accelerating the green transition. These themes are expected to dominate the agenda.

To help the business community better understand national policy directions and explore future opportunities, the Chamber will hold a seminar on 24 March. Chamber leaders who attended the Two Sessions will share their insights and participate in discussions on trends in China’s economic and social development.
