Liu Xiaoming, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee and Governor of Hainan Province, led a delegation to visit the Chamber on 17 June. The delegation was warmly received by Chairman Jacob Kam, Deputy Chairman Peter Lam, CEO Patrick Yeung, China Committee Chairman Felix Lee, and member.
During the meeting, Liu introduced the latest progress of the Hainan Free Trade Port. He noted that as policy benefits continue to unfold, enterprises remain highly optimistic about its prospects. Hainan recorded 1,240 newly established foreign-invested enterprises, representing a year-on-year increase of 37.62%, reflecting growing confidence from international capital in the province’s development potential. Looking ahead, Hainan will steadily advance institutional opening-up, proactively align with high-standard international economic and trade rules, and foster a more competitive international business environment.
As the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port continues to deepen, the Chamber has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Hainan Committee to strengthen cooperation. This will lay a solid foundation for closer collaboration, support enterprises from both sides in expanding development opportunities, and jointly promote high-quality regional economic development to a new stage.
