Meeting with Yin Xiaomin, Deputy Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office, Shandong
Yin Xiaomin, Deputy Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office, Shandong Provincial Government, visited the Chamber on 15 April. General Committee Member Emil Yu received the delegation, which included the directors of the Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs offices in Jinan, Yantai, Weifang, and Liaocheng, respectively. Discussions included updates on the economic and social development in these cities as well as potential investment by Hong Kong enterprises

Maisie Chan, Commissioner for the Development of the Greater Bay Area, updated members on the latest developments in the GBA at a committee meeting on 14 March. Chan said Hong Kong could provide world-class professional services and an experienced workforce to help enterprises develop business there. The city was also a strategic springboard for overseas start-ups and enterprises looking to enter the GBA.

Meeting with the Minister of the United Front Work Department of Haikou
Chen Weidong, Minister of the United Front Work Department of Haikou, visited the Chamber on 1 March, where they were received by Eric Fok, General Committee Member and China Committee Chairman.
Chen Weidong introduced the recent development of Haikou. He mentioned that the population of Haikou is around 3 million, however, there were over 1 million new registered companies in the region last year. To attract more foreign investors, the local government has been actively improving the business environment.

Hong Kong Small and Medium Enterprises Shenzhen Delegation
Vice Chairmen Thomas Su, Vikky Tam and Simon Hui joined the Hong Kong Small and Medium Enterprises Shenzhen Delegation to Qianhai on 1 November. Organized by the Trade and Industry Department, the 60-member group learned about Shenzhen’s latest development plans, relevant policies and business environment.

Humen Investment Promotion Session
Hong Kong and Humen signed six projects with a total investment amount of over HK$7 billion at the Humen Investment Promotion Session on 31 October. Sectors covered included covering medical, renovation of industrial land, commercial residences, electronic information projects, etc. China Committee Vice Chairman Felix Lee joined the event, which was organized by Humen People’s Government.
