Li Lirong, Deputy Director of the Shenzhen Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office, visited the Chamber on 24 February, where she was received by Felix Lee, Chairman of the China Committee.
Li highlighted Shenzhen’s key economic priorities, including AI, electric vehicles, biotechnology, and the low-altitude airspace economy, which are shaping the city's long-term development strategy. She expressed hope to strengthen ties between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, thus establishing concrete mechanisms for cooperation. She highlighted Shenzhen’s focus on Greater Bay Area collaboration, providing platforms for enterprises to expand globally. She also emphasized healthcare as a key area for cooperation, with a dedicated working group exploring specialist training aligned with international standards and the integration of Hong Kong’s healthcare vouchers. Additionally, she welcomed feedback on Shenzhen’s policies for Hong Kong residents to better support businesses and individuals.

Director of CCPIT Guangzhou, Chen Simin visited the Chamber
Chairman of the China Committee Felix Lee welcomed Chen Simin, Director of CCPIT Guangzhou to the Chamber on 20 February. Chen highlighted Guangzhou’s thriving exhibition industry, noting that the city hosts major A-level exhibitions, such as the International Logistics Equipment & Technology Exhibition, SIAL China South, and the Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival. With Guangzhou’s exhibition scale ranking second nationwide in 2024, he invited Hong Kong enterprises to participate and explore new market opportunities. He emphasized the need for closer cooperation between Hong Kong and Guangzhou, leveraging Hong Kong’s role as a bridge for East-West cultural integration. He expressed gratitude for Hong Kong entrepreneurs’ contributions to Guangzhou’s development and reaffirmed Guangzhou’s commitment to supporting Hong Kong businesses, working together toward high-quality development.

Meeting with Mayor of Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province
Xing Zhengjun, Mayor of Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, called on the Chamber on 14 October. During a meeting with China Committee Chairman Felix Lee, Xing highlighted Lianyungang's achievements in the biopharmaceutical and medical technology sectors. He said the city's pharmaceutical enterprises have been actively pursuing innovation and expanding their operations. In 2023, Hengrui Pharmaceuticals and Sino Biopharm (CTTQ) ranked first and third, respectively, on the Chinese Pharmaceutical Industry’s Top 100 list.

Meeting with Mayor of Qionghai, Hainan Province
Fu Sheng, Mayor of Qionghai, Hainan Province, visited the Chamber on 14 October. He was warmly welcomed by China Committee Chairman Felix Lee and other members.
In recent years, significant emphasis has been placed on the biomedical and pharmaceutical industries, which have emerged as crucial drivers of economic development. Fu discussed the current state of the economic and medical sectors in Qionghai, highlighting the potential and prospects of the biomedicine, healthcare and insurance industrial chains. He also noted that approximately 400,000 Hainanese residents live in Hong Kong, creating an important bond for communication between the two regions.
