Dalian Deputy Mayor Jin Guowei visited the Chamber

Dalian Deputy Mayor Jin Guowei visited the Chamber on 11 September. He and his delegation were received by China Committee Chairman Petrina Tam and General Committee Member David Lie.

Jin said that the Dalian Government has actively encouraged local companies to list their shares on the Mainland and in Hong Kong, and also nurtured the development of renewable energy technologies. Education is a growing sector in the city, and, combining these two areas, The Energy Institute, part of The University of The Chinese Academy of Sciences, will open in Dalian next year. Jin encouraged Chamber members to have a study tour to Dalian in the near future to learn more about the business opportunities.

Qianhai Corporation Forum 2019

Edmond Yew, Vice Chairman of China Committee and 10 members joined the 2019 Qianhai Cooperation Forum, co-organised by the Shenzhen Qianhai Administration Bureau and the National Hong Kong Macao Research Association, held in Shenzhen on 2 August. Speakers at the forum discussed about the new round of national reform and opening-up, and opportunities and challenges facing the development of Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, and also discussed in depth how to further strengthen the cooperation among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

Xie Meng, Chairman of the Guangzhou Tianhe Road Chamber of Commerce Visited

Xie Meng, Chairman of the Guangzhou Tianhe Road Chamber of Commerce, called on the Chamber on 30 July. Petrina Tam, Chairman of the China Committee, received the delegation.

The 8th Guangzhou International Shopping Festival will be held in the Tianhe Shopping Area, Guangzhou for one month, starting from 11 October. The theme of this year’s event is Guangzhou-Hong Kong-Macao Cultural Tourism. The Greater Bay Area Forum will also take place during the festival.

At the meeting, members discussed the format of the shopping festival, and said that they hoped more Hong Kong companies would participate in this international event.
