2018/08/17 | Business Matching with Japan Food Expo Delegation A Japanese Food Expo delegation visited the Chamber on 17 August where they were welcomed by Behzad Mirzaei, Chairman of the Asia & Africa Committee and members from trading, logistics and F&B sectors. The delegation presented members with unique local food products such as pink wasabi and sake, green mikan tea, Shirataki udon and seafood fish skewers, most of which were not yet distributed or sold in Hong Kong. The delegation last visited the Chamber in late 2017, after which several deals were made between Hong Kong importers and Japanese producers to bring products to Hong Kong.

2018/08/17 | Iran Welcoming Investment Mohammad Amin Sabbaghi, President of the Bandar Abbas Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, visited the Chamber on 17 August. The 30-member delegation was received by Behzad Mirzaei, Chairman of the Asia & Africa Committee, and members. Amin Sabbaghi introduced Bandar Abbas Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture to members. He told members that Banda Abbas was welcoming foreign investment and two free economic zones had already been established to facilitate and incentivize trade and investment in the region. The two sides also discussed the potential of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Greater Bay Area.

2018/08/15 | Exploring Hong Kong-Wakayama Opportunities Seizo Tsuji, Manager of the Corporate Promotions Division of Wakayama Prefectural Government, visited the Chamber on 15 August where they were welcomed by the Secretariat. Tsuji introduced the region’s strong manufacturing sector, which predominantly produces textiles, dyes and chemicals, metal, food and traditional handicrafts. Boasting a 680 km coastline and mountains, the prefecture is renowned for its fresh produce such as seafood and fruits. Tsuji expressed the wish for closer ties between Hong Kong and Wakayama, and proposed to arrange for business delegations to visit the Chamber.
