2018/01/11 | Meeting with Julie-Anne Nichols, Commissioner, Queensland Trade and Investment, Hong Kong Julie-Anne Nichols, Commissioner, Queensland Trade and Investment, Hong Kong, called on the Chamber’s Director for Programs and PR on 11 January to discuss areas of cooperation and business opportunities tied in with the Commonwealth Games in the state in early April. Nichols explained that several programmes are planned to introduce businesses to opportunities in food and agribusiness, health care, tourism and sports, among others.

2018/01/08 | Meeting with Ambassador Junichi IHARA, Chair of the Dispute Settlement Body, WTO and Permanent Representative to the WTO, Japan Ambassador Junichi Ihara, Chair of the Dispute Settlement Body at the WTO and Japan’s Permanent Representative to the WTO, visited the Chamber on 8 January. He was received by Mark Michelson, Chairman of the Chamber’s CSI-Executive Committee, and Behzad Mirzaei and Andrew Wells, Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Asia & Africa Committee. Ambassador Ihara gave members an insight into the challenges faced by the Dispute Settlement Body. He also shared the news that he will take up a new position at the WTO in March, overseeing issues related to e-commerce.
