The Americas Committee is one of the Chamber's trade area committees responsible for providing substantive programs and information to chamber members who wish to further develop and strengthen business ties with countries in the Americas region.

The Americas Committee is committed to continuing its efforts in promoting bilateral trade and investment between Hong Kong and countries in North America, Central America and South America, through events including luncheons, seminars, meetings with overseas visitors and delegations, missions and networking functions.


Meeting with Paul Byles, President of Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce

Paul Byles, President of Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce, accompanied by Chief Executive Officer Wil Pineau, called on the Chamber on 19 March, where he was welcomed by Americas Committee Chairman Thomas Wong, Asia and Africa Committee Chairman Behzad Mirzaei, and members. Byles introduced the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce, stating that they represented 18,000 of the 40,000-strong workforce in the country. He further explained how the Cayman Islands, with its diverse financial services, acted as an international financial centre. The finance sector and tourism sector had been considered as the country’s “twin pillars” of economic development.
