The Chamber, the Consulate General of Brazil in Hong Kong and ApexBrasil co-organised the “Opportunities for Investments in Brazilian Ports” seminar on 14 September with the support of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The goal of the event was to update Hong Kong businesses on the investment opportunities in Brazilian ports and to attract local investors for public and private projects in the country. Americas Committee Chairman Thomas Wong, in his welcome remarks at the event, said Hong Kong’s port expertise ranks among the top in the world, and has a lot to contribute to the efficiency of Brazilian ports.
A high-level ports and infrastructure delegation from Brazil, led by Bruno Graça Simões, Vice Consul of the Consulate General of Brazil, visited the Chamber on 15 September where they were welcomed by Americas Committee Chairman Thomas Wong, Vice Chairmen Gary Ahuja and Kelvin Wong. The delegates were eager to learn more about the role of Hong Kong under the “one country, two systems” policy. Both sides expressed hope for more efficient information exchange and closer collaboration in the future.
