2019/12/06 | Meeting on Hong Kong-US Trade Opportunities Scott Tatlock, Executive Director of U.S. Department of Commerce Office of China and Mongolia, together with Bradley Harker, Chief Commercial Consul of the Consulate General of U.S. in Hong Kong and Macao, and his Deputy Geoffrey Parish called on the Chamber on 6 December, where they were received by HKGCC Vice Chairman Leland Sun. The visitors introduced Trade Winds Forum 2020 that will take place in Hong Kong next year and discussed with the Chamber some possible areas for collaboration. Sun hoped the Forum would help improve investors’ confidence in Hong Kong.
Both sides also exchanged views on recent trade and investment situations in Hong Kong, and possible impact of U.S. Human Rights and Democracy Act on Hong Kong businesses. Nevertheless, they agreed that Hong Kong is still an important hub for business in the region, especially in trade and flow of services.
