The China Committee has been promoting Hong Kong as the international bridge connecting Mainland China with the world. It is one of the most active committees in the Chamber, and is responsible for advising and assisting the Chamber in formulating policy, enhancing economic relations and strengthening trade. The committee keeps members up to date on the latest economic developments and new policies in Hong Kong and the Mainland that will impact their business, through organizing timely roundtable luncheons, seminars and study missions.


Meeting with Economic and Technological Cooperation Department of Jilin Province

Fang Liqun, Deputy Director-General, Economic and Technological Cooperation Department of Jilin Province, visited the Chamber on 26 February. Petrina Tam, China Committee Vice Chairman, received him and his colleagues. Fang said the economy of the three north-east provinces in Mainland China had rebounded in recent years. He also explained that the services industry, which accounts for about 40% of the overall economy of Jilin province, presents a huge opportunity to businesses, particularly in the hotel and tourism sectors.
