Creating a ‘Great Hotel Guests Love’

Boasting over 25 years of experience in the hotel industry, Alexander O. Wassermann has worked as a hotelier in Mainland China, Dubai, Egypt, Jordan, Germany and the U.S., where he held senior management roles for international hotel brands such as Kempinski, Steigenberger, Hilton and Movenpick. In 2014, Wassermann returned to the InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong as the General Manager, after having previously worked there until 2010. In between, he was InterContinental Hotels & Resorts Area’s General Manager of Shandong Province, Mainland China, and the General Manager of InterContinental Qingdao.

Opened in 1981, the five-star InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong has 572 luxurious rooms and suites. To enhance the guest experience, it has recently embarked on the final phase of room refurbishment which is expected to be completed by August this year.

“We look forward to welcoming our guests with brand-new, sleek design combined with efficient technology, ensuring the most modern and user-friendly experience for our valued guests,” said Wassermann.

In 2016, the InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong garnered one of the industry’s most acclaimed prizes, being named the World’s Leading Luxury Business Hotel from World Travel Awards.

“It is always about people and services that differentiate us from competitors in the hospitality industry. 30% of our staff has served the company for over 20 years. They know our customers, and they are well aware of their preferences,” said Wassermann.
