For Immediate Release

Six teams of university students beat 12 other teams in the final of the 2021 HKGCC Business Case Competition on 15 and 16 June to win cash prizes of HK$30,000 each, internship opportunities, and a one-year HKGCC student membership.

More than 450 students from various universities in Hong Kong formed around 200 teams to participate in the competition themed “Defining the New Normal.” Each of the competition’s six sponsors -- Citibank, DHL, Great Eagle Group, NWS Holdings, PwC and Sino Group – set a specific business case for the students to come up with possible solutions. Topics ranged from zero-carbon operations to harnessing emerging technologies to help SMEs.

“It has been fantastic to see the hard work of the students come to fruition in the final stage of the Business Case Competition,” said HKGCC CEO George Leung. “I have been particularly impressed by the students’ understanding of the issues facing businesses today, as well as the innovative solutions that they have come up with. I’m sure they all have a bright future ahead of them.”

Each winning team of individual company challenges received a cash prize of HK$30,000, and the chance to have an internship at the company, while the first and second runners up received HK$20,000 and HK$10,000 respectively. Following are the results of the competition:
