In a significant move to deepen financial connectivity within the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and bolster Hong Kong's position as an international financial centre and offshore RMB hub, HKSAR and Mainland regulators have released the revised guidelines for the Cross-Boundary Wealth Management Connect Pilot Scheme (WMC scheme). The initiative, announced on 24 January 2024, is part of a broader strategy encompassing six policy measures to strengthen financial integration and promote cross-border investment within the GBA.

This informative session will explain the amendments made to the implementation guidelines and explore the opportunities brought about by the revised guidelines implemented in February 2024.

    Minny Siu has been working closely with a new wave of FinTech innovators on the establishment of tech-driven product platforms and infrastructure to drive traditional banking and financial services and products as part of Hong Kong's transformation into an e-Smart City under the new era of regulatory initiatives. She regularly advises on financial market infrastructure projects, including GBA Wealth Management Connect, cross-border RMB settlements (including eCNY) and payment remittance projects. She is an active participant in industry working groups and committees, including the Financial Services Development Council, ISDA and the Capital Markets Committee of ASIFMA. Siu was named one of the Women Leaders in Hong Kong by IFLR1000 Women Leaders 2020.

    Agnes Chan has advised numerous financial institutions on banking and financial services documentation projects, including those relating to the Wealth Management Scheme 1.0 as well as the Wealth Management Scheme 2.0. Specifically, she prepared client documentation in regard to Wealth Management Scheme 2.0 for securities firms as well as various banks. She also advises on licensing and regulatory compliance issues as well as general financial regulatory development and product platform development in Hong Kong. Chan is experienced in a wide range of investment products, and maintains a close working relationship with Hong Kong regulators, including the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and the Securities and Futures Commission.

    Notes - Bookings are only confirmed upon receipt of payment, on a first come first served basis.

    - The Chamber reserves the right to decline any booking or cancel the event. In such case, a full refund of the participation fee will be issued.
