Mission to Bahrain & UAE - Trade, Investment, Real Estate, Tourism
The Middle East region is undergoing a significant economic and social transition. Many countries across the Middle East have captured the world's attention as they aim to diversify their economies and transit to a green and sustainable future. These reforms present new opportunities for companies across a wide range of industries.
Bahrain's economy is the most diversified amongst all regional Gulf countries with non-oil sectors contributing about 82% of its GDP. The financial sector is the largest contributor of total GDP, followed by the manufacturing sector. Bahrain is seeking to develop industries such as tourism, logistics, financial services and ICT. The Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI) rated Bahrain as one of the emerging international contenders. In 2022, the number of visitors arriving for tourism reached 9.9 million, up by 19% over the target.
The United Arab Emirates was ranked first in the Arab region and 25th globally in the Global Competitiveness Report 2019. It has well-established infrastructure, a stable political system and one of the most liberal trade regimes in the Gulf region. "We the UAE 2031" strategy to diversify the economy includes goals to generate more non-oil exports, boost tourism as well as accomplishing a world leading position in terms of quality of life and attracting talent.
