Taking Hong Kong's AI Pulse in Becoming a Smarter Digital City
In their latest white paper, entitled “Smarter Digital City – AI for Everyone”, Google Hong Kong and KPMG China found that despite acceptance of AI by Hong Kong businesses, and willingness to invest in this developing technology, the rate of adoption was hindered by the lack of expertise in the city.
Leonie Valentine, Manager Director, Sales & Operations of Google Hong Kong, and James O’Callaghan, Partner, Head of Technology Consulting, Hong Kong of KPMG China, discussed the findings of the white paper at a Chamber webinar on 23 November. They noted that businesses and residents were generally positive about AI, and they offered practical recommendations to promote and incentivise AI adoption in the SAR. They were joined by Eddie Azadi, Executive Creative Director of Google, who provided the stories to the development of the Ho Jeng AR app, powered by AI and AR technology, which aims to spread joy with AR characters designed for Hong Kong, and boost interest in STEM education in Hong Kong.
