The ongoing trade dispute between Mainland China and the United States has created challenges for many Asian economies and set the tone for the upcoming APEC summit in Chile, which will take place in mid-November. At a Chamber luncheon on 18 October, David Dodwell, Executive Director of the Hong Kong-APEC Trade Policy Study Group, shared his expertise on how the recent setbacks resulting from the trade war had jeopardized the economic progress made in Asia over the past four decades, and also discussed what was being done in APEC to try to reverse them.
