Social Sustainability of Hong Kong as a Tourist Destination

A study on the sustainability of Hong Kong as a tourist destination indicated that local residents think priority should be given to cultural and natural attractions, followed by man-made attractions (such as theme parks), historical attractions and shopping. It also looked at host-guest conflicts, social tolerance and social acceptance. Prof Hanqin Qiu, who led the study, from the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, HK PolyU, shared the findings of the study at the Chamber’s seminar today.
