Coral reefs play a vital role in maintaining ocean health, but they are currently under threat resulting from climate change and rising sea temperature.

On 6 September, members enjoyed a visit to Ocean Park’s new Coral REEFstoration Centre to learn more about its conservation work to rebuild the ‘rainforests of the sea’ in Hong Kong waters, including the use of 3D-printing technology to build artificial reefs to enhance coral survival and growth. Members also had the chance to learn about the Park’s broader commitment to supporting marine ecosystems through shark and stingray husbandry, as well as sea turtle rescue and recovery.
