The development of e-commerce and cyber security in Hong Kong

The Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) together with Cyberbay met with Thomas Su, Vice Chairman of the Small & Medium Enterprise Committee, and Elsa Wong, Chairman of the Digital, Information & Technology Committee, on 18 April to introduce their upcoming Bug Hunting Campaign and to understand the cybersecurity needs of SMEs.

Baron Chan, Superintendent of CSTCB, discussed the campaign’s goals, while Kok Tin GAN, Co-founder & CEO of Cyberbay, explained how the campaign would run and shared his views on the development of e-commerce and cyber security in Hong Kong. Su and Wong also expressed their thoughts on the campaign and shared their experiences in the field of cybersecurity.

Meeting with Department of Commerce of Jilin Province

Lu Jiwei, Deputy Director, Department of Commerce of Jilin Province, led a delegation to visit the Chamber on 13 April, where they were welcomed by China Committee Vice Chairman Edmond Yew and members. Lu introduced that Hong Kong was the largest source of foreign investment in Jilin, and 28 Hong Kong enterprises had already invested in Yanbian. Yanbian is a Korean autonomous prefecture in Jilin Province, located next to the border with North Korea and Russia. Both parties exchanged views on various aspects such as financial services, healthcare, integrated catering and tourism.

Meeting with Tongzhou District People's Government of Nantong

Zhang Binhui, Vice Mayor of Tongzhou District People's Government of Nantong, led a delegation to the Chamber on 27 March, where they are received by Petrina Tam, GBA Working Group Convenor. Zhang introduced the latest investment environment and development in Nantong. They also exchanged ideas on fostering further cooperation.

Meeting with Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province

Greater Bay Area

Chen Yuehua, Deputy Director of Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province visited the Chamber on 1 March, where they are received by Felix Lee, China Committee Vice Chairman. Both parties exchanged ideas on the construction of the Greater Bay Area, healthcare sector, and assisting Hong Kong integrate into the national development.

Dongguan Wangniudun Town Visits the Chamber

Greater Bay Area

Wu Runling, Secretary of Dongguan Wangniudun Town, led a delegation to the Chamber on 27 February, where they are received by Emil Yu, General Committee Member. Connected to the centre of Dongguan and located the middle of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Economic Corridor, Wangniudun Town was a good place for Hong Kong and Shenzhen enterprises to settle in Dongguan, Wu introduced.
