HKGCC Free Ride Day a Huge Success
HKGCC Free Ride Day
The tinkling of bells kicked off the opening ceremony of the HKGCC Free Ride Day on May 29, the Chamber’s birthday, which allowed people to travel for free all day on trams and two Star Ferry routes. An estimated 300,000 people from all walks of life benefitted from the event.

HKGCC Annual General Meeting
The Chamber held its Annual General Meeting at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on May 24. Members networked and mingled, and some familiar faces dropped by, including former Chairman CC Tung, former General Committee Member Daniel Koo. At the inaugural meeting of the new General Committee immediately after the AGM, C K Chow, Chairman of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd,was elected Chairman of HKGCC, while Y K Pang, Director of Jardine Matheson Ltd, was elected Deputy Chairman, and the three Vice Chairmen are, respectively: Victor Li, Managing Director & Deputy Chairman of Cheung Kong (Holdings) Ltd; Christopher Pratt, Chairman of John Swire & Sons (HK) Ltd; and Stephen Ng, Deputy Chairman & Managing Director of The Wharf (Holdings) Ltd. HKGCC Delegation to Hunan - EXPO CENTRAL CHINA 2012
Study Missions
HKGCC organised a mission to the ‘the 7th Central China Investment and Trade Exposition’ (Expo Central China 2012) from 16-18 May. Themed with 'Inclusive Rise, Green Growth', the 7th Expo Central China took place in Changsha, Hunan Province this year. During the mission, members visited exhibition halls, joined the World Chinese Entrepreneur Leaders Summit 2012, and built up networks with representatives from Central China and various regions. Moreover, members learned about new policy and business opportunities in the six provinces of Central China.

Hong Kong International Airport strives to achieve the highest standards of operating efficiency and service excellence, and has the ambition of being the world’s greenest airport. AA’s green initiatives are guided by an environmental policy that drives efforts to minimize airport-generated pollution and maximize efficient use of energy and natural resources in partnership with the cooperation of tenants.The Chamber organized a site inspection to see how AA helps airport tenants separate waste at source, encourages recycling, enhances energy efficiency, conducts carbon audits and implements many other innovative environmental measures.
