Financial & Treasury Services Committee

Terms of Reference

1) Mission

• To function as a specialist committee to support and counsel the General Committee and Chamber Directorate on issues/ areas pertinent to the promotion of Hong Kong’s financial services industry and status as an international financial centre.

2) Objectives

• To study and advise on, amongst other issues, the following:
  • Flow of capital
  • Green and sustainable finance
  • Fintech, virtual assets and other finance-related innovations and emerging trends
• To liaise as necessary with other Committees of the Chamber and with non-Chamber organisations, including the Hong Kong Government, both locally and internationally on matters related to the healthy and sustainable development of the local financial services industry.
• To carry out any other related work at the request of the General Committee or Directorate.

3) Membership

• Membership is open to Chamber corporate members in the financial services sectors as well as senior finance executives of Chamber corporate members.
• Chamber individual associate members who wish to apply as observers to the Committee should belong to a company in the financial services sectors and will be subject to endorsement by the Committee.
• Committee membership is subject to agreement by the committee chairman and the Chamber CEO.
• Members should observe the "Guidelines for HKGCC Committees".
