Background:
The Yen Chow Street Public Vehicle Park is an innovative project located in Sham Shui Po, Hong Kong. This project aims to address the parking shortage in the area by incorporating an Automated Parking System (APS) that significantly increases parking capacity within the same footprint. The APS will feature advanced mechanical devices, including express elevators and revolving platforms, to enhance user convenience and operational efficiency. It will also include an apparatus for the automatic location and retrieval of parked vehicles.
The project site covers approximately 3,670 square meters and will provide around 200 public parking spaces, with about 170 of these being automated and the remaining 30 conventional. The construction is expected to be completed by 2026, and the project aims to utilize the space-saving features of APS to free up ground-level space for recreational facilities, thereby benefiting the community and optimizing land use.
