Jardine Engineering Corporation (JEC), a company with over 100 years of history in the traditional Electrical and Mechanical (E&M) industry, is dedicated to fostering a smarter Hong Kong and a more sustainable future for the community we operate in. JEC has applied for and received approval for its science-based decarbonization targets from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and has aligned its efforts with the Hong Kong government’s net zero plan for 2050 and smart city initiatives, aiming to enhance living environments and building efficiency.

To date, JEC has made significant progress in developing a digital solutions business focused on sustainability, known as JEDI. JEDI aims to help clients achieve their ESG goals by optimizing energy usage and predicting maintenance schedule for commercial buildings, facility management companies, and government infrastructure. By leveraging digital and AI technologies, JEC is actively seeking new ways to embed the concept of sustainability into both its and , driving transformative change.

The challenge

Your task is to:    
1. For business offering, propose ONE new digital/AI solution on carbon management, along with a go-to-market plan for this new sustainable solution. The go-to-market strategy plan should include THREE strategies, value propositions, target market segments, a high-level execution plan, and any additional relevant considerations.    
2. For corporate culture, develop communication campaigns and activations that could promote sustainability within JEC and align staff with the company’s sustainability-driven mindset.

A 5 to 10 slide presentation of their Submission produced in PDF format (for first round). The submission should suggest applications of innovative technologies which can bring the following benefits to Hong Kong citizens:

  • Enhancing efficiency: Improve efficiency and convenience for citizens through streamlining processes, reducing wait times, and optimising resource allocation in public services.
  • Promoting sustainability: Contribute to building a more sustainable and livable city through implementing environmentally friendly solutions, reducing energy consumption, promoting renewable energy and optimising resource allocation.
  • Fostering citizen engagement: Empower citizens through digital platforms and services to facilitate their participation in decision-making processes, community initiatives and public services.
  • Enhancing quality of life: Deliver personalized and accessible services in areas such as healthcare, education, transportation, and public safety to elevate the overall quality of life for Hong Kong citizens.​
