30TH ANNIVERSARY SUMMIT
Delivering his keynote speech, Chief Executive John Lee underscored Hong Kong’s role as a vital hub for businesses eager to tap into growth in the Mainland and the region, as well as connecting with investors in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
Addressing a full house, Financial Secretary Paul Chan reminded us that in a multipolar world, “Where there are opportunities, money comes!” This statement resonated deeply with the audience, emphasizing Hong Kong's resilience amid global challenges.
The summit’s panel discussions were electric! In the first session, experts and thought leaders examined Hong Kong’s role as a bridge between emerging markets and developed economies, showcasing our strengths as a global financial powerhouse. The second talk unpacked how technologies like AI, blockchain and big data are revolutionizing sectors like biotechnology and education.
Capping the afternoon, Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles, Chairman of the China-Britain Business Council, shared his insights from his recent Mainland visit, addressing misconceptions about Hong Kong’s financial sector and conveying the sentiments of European politicians and businesses regarding emerging economies of the Middle East and ASEAN.
