The Challenge
The HKSAR Government published the Smart City Blueprint for Hong Kong in 2017, listing over 70 initiatives under six smart areas, namely “Smart Mobility”, “Smart Living”, “Smart Environment”, “Smart People”, “Smart Government” and “Smart Economy”. The second edition of the Blueprint published in 2020 puts forth over 130 initiatives which continue to enhance and expand existing city management measures and services. The Blueprint offers various solutions to enhance the quality of life for Hong Kong residents. We cordially invite students to submit proposals outlining how CNK can leverage its inherent advantages and expertise to capitalise on the opportunities presented by the initiatives listed in the Smart City Blueprint under the "Smart Living" category. This exciting opportunity allows students to showcase their innovative thinking and contribute to the advancement of CNK's role in building a smarter and more sustainable city.
The proposal should focus on leveraging innovative technologies to effectively address the challenges faced by Hong Kong citizens, including the below key areas of application:
- Smart infrastructure;
- Digital services;
- Environmental sustainability; and
- Enhancements in quality of life
