Dec 2021 - Jan 2022
HKGCC will assign each student to a sponsor company that they will visit during Stage Two and pitch to in Stage Four. Students can express their preference for the company they would like to be assigned to, however, the final decision on company arrangement is subject to the Chamber.
Visits to the sponsor companies will enable participants to have a better understanding of the business, and will help prepare them for the pitching competition. Students will join a guided tour on a designated date where they will learn more about the company’s mission, business operations and upcoming plans. Participants will also learn about the career prospects and talent development path within the company.
During the pitching session in Stage Four, students are required to impress the senior management of a selected company among the seven companies to give them a hypothetical job offer.
Participants will only visit the company that they have been assigned to.
Jan - Mar 2022
During this stage, the Chamber will assign two mentors to groups of 2-4 students. The mentors are all members of the Chamber’s Young Executives Club, with diverse backgrounds and professions.
Participants should send a brief introduction (150 words) of themselves, which will help us allocate the most appropriate mentor. We will provide a list of mentors and their backgrounds to participants in advance. The channel to submit the brief intro will be announced later via email.
Mentors will share their personal stories and give advice on career development, as well as helping the students prepare for the pitching competition in Stage Four.
Students and their assigned mentors are required to meet at least three times during the programme, either physically or via ZOOM.
The final stage of the programme includes 2 rounds of competitions, First Round and Final, where each participant will pitch their business ideas to senior management of the company they have been assigned to.
A panel of company representatives will conduct group interview with student participants. Each candidate will give a two-minute presentation at first to the panel and then answer questions from the panel. Each company will select a winner. The winners of each company, totally 7 candidates, will enter into the final.
The winners of each company will enter into the Final. This will be in group interview format in front of a judging panel comprising the Chamber leadership and YEC leadership. A Final Champion will be selected and awarded an additional prize of HK$10,000, and one day job shadowing with Eric Fok, Co-Chairman of YEC.
