Company Background
World Wide Fund for Nature Hong Kong (WWF-HK) is an independent part of the global WWF network whose Secretariat is based in Switzerland. World Wide Fund for Nature was founded in 1961 as an international organization supported by charitable donations devoted to the conservation of wild plants and animals and the place where they live.
WWF’s mission is to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature by:
1. Conserving the world’s biodiversity
2. Ensuring that the use of renewable natural resources is sustainable; and
3. Promoting the reduction of pollution and wasteful consumption
From 1981, WWF-HK has been working to ensure a better environment for the present and future generations in Hong Kong and South China through implementation of a wide range of focused conservation and environmental education programmes.
Business Activities
WWF-HK’s core service is conservation. Environmental education is a tool to engage people in conservation and hence achieve our ultimate goal. WWF-HK’s conservation programmes are divided into 5 pillars- Freshwater and Wetlands, Marine, Terrestrial and Conservation Policy, Oceans Sustainability and Climate Change.
