HKGCC Supports Measures to Break Transmission Chain

For Immediate Release

In light of the rapidly rising number of Covid-19 infections and related deaths in Hong Kong in the wake of the fifth wave of the pandemic, the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce supports the Government’s plan for three rounds of compulsory universal testing.

“Hong Kong is at a critical point in its fight against the pandemic and we all need to play a part in overcoming the worst outbreak ever,” said HKGCC Chairman Peter Wong. “We hope the chain of transmission can be stopped under the plan and other stricter measures.”

The Chamber also urges the Government to offer more financial assistance to all sectors affected by prolonged social distancing measures, which are expected to be in place until at least 20 April.
