Companies are in face of common problems, such as short demand cycles of clients, volatile production plans, limited conditions of warehouse, low operation efficiency and inactive business management. Subject to keen market competition, the key is to achieve low inventory level while meeting clients' demand at the same time. This course is suitable for those currently involved in inventory and logistics management. Those who are responsible for the management of supply chain in manufacturing and retailing sectors would also find this workshop relevant to their work.

Course Content:
1. Understand the common indicators for performance measurement in warehouse and inventory management.
2. Learn about different approaches to measuring inventory performance and their implications to an organization.
3. How to classify inventory and clear aging stock effectively? Introduction of Pareto analysis in inventory classification and its connection to the establishment of customer service level for each inventory category.
4. Discuss the major considerations for implementing VMI operations and drafting VMI agreements.
5. Discuss some points to note for the implementation of cross docking in distribution centres. What factors should be taken into consideration before kicking off such operation?
6. Learn about various features of a WMS and how it supports effective inventory management.
7. Discuss best practices.

Irene is a logistics professional with over 20 years' experience in shipping and letter of credit operation for multi-national companies. Her clients include P&G, Nestle, Cadbury, Philips, General Electric and McDonald's. Irene is a "Certified Logistician Trainer" and a "Certified Trainer of ITC International Purchasing and Supply Management". She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong ("CMILT") and the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers in Logistics and Transport ("MHKIE").

Notes - Bookings are only confirmed upon receipt of payment, on a first come first served basis.
- Booking transfer is allowed for corporate members with advanced notice, walk-ins are normally not accepted.
- The Chamber reserves the right to decline any booking or cancel the event. In such case, a full refund of the participation fee will be issued.
- No refund will be made for last minute cancellations or no-shows. If the booking is cancelled at least 7 days before the event, and in such cases the refund will be subjected to a 10% administration fee, or HK$100 deduction, whichever is higher.
- Members paying with their BOC HKGCC Visa Card will enjoy a 30% discount on their reservation. The discount is only applicable to the card holder, and does not extend to their guests. The discount cannot be used in conjunction with Chamber Coupons.
