The Colour of Money and the Environment: Why Green Finance Matters

Transparency is a key component of green finance and companies should work with stakeholders to develop sustainability initiatives that address the three central yardsticks of impact investing -- environmental, social and corporate governance standards. At a seminar on 17 November, a panel of experts discussed the rise of green finance driven by a surge in purposeful investing.

Jonathan Drew, Vice President at the Hong Kong Green Finance Association, provided an overview of Hong Kong and the Mainland’s green finance policies. He also spoke on the latest market trends with green bonds. His fellow panellists included Robert Barker, Chief Sustainable Business Officer at BNP Paribas, who spoke about the role of the banking sector in green finance, and Calvin Kwan, Head of Sustainability at Link Asset Management, who shared his company’s approach to green and social investing.
