Recently returned from the Two Sessions in Beijing, Anthony Wu, member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee; Nick Chan, Hong Kong Deputy to the National People's Congress; and Stanley Hui, member of the CPPCC National Committee, shared their exclusive insights from the meetings with members at a webinar on 5 June. Key topics discussed were economic goals and policies, especially the National Security Law. The actual content and schedule of the National Security Law has not yet been determined, but the law is expected to uphold “One Country, Two Systems” in Hong Kong. Anthony Wu also spoke about the benefits of the Greater Bay Area, which could provide lot of development space for Hong Kong to help ease the city’s land supply shortage.
