LATAM Economies Expected to Improve in 2020
Shark Xia, Chief Economist for Asia, BBVA Research, forecasts key economies in Latin America (LATAM) will be on the upswing in 2020. Argentina and Chile, however, due to internal political and economic unrest, will continue to struggle. Speaking at the Americas Committee roundtable luncheon on 8 January, Xia also touched on the impact of the U.S.-China trade war, which he expects will continue to put downward pressure on the Mainland’s economy.
