EU’s global strategy for a future without Britain
At a roundtable luncheon on 15 October, Carmen Cano de Lasala, Head of the European Union Office to Hong Kong and Macao, reviewed the E.U.’s performance over the past three years, and highlighted its commitment to strengthen multilateral cooperation, particularly with Asian region. Dr Alicia Garcia-Herrero, Chief Economist for Asia Pacific at Natixis, also joined the talk to outline the challenges ahead for the continent. She foresees a gloomy economy in Eurozone with a structural downward in trade, shrink in global value chain and poor export performance. Uncertainty brought by Brexit is also weakening investments in the continent.
