職業英語培訓資助計劃
職業英語培訓資助計劃為在職人士提供相當於參加培訓課程及考試費用百分之五十的資助。資助款項將於申請人修畢課程並在認可之英語測試中達到所需的最低基準後發放。
資助計劃的措施
申請人必須為香港居民及非公務員僱員、學校/大學教師或待業人士;每名申請人只可申請一次。
申請人最多可獲資助報請三個培訓課程(所有課程須在第一個課程之開課日期起計八個月內完成),以及考取一個英語會話基準及一個書面英語基準。每個課程及考試的資助額上限為1,500元(即每名申請人的資助額最高可達4,500元)。
申請人須於擬申請資助培訓課程開課前提交申請,而擬申請資助的第一個培訓課程須在申請日期起計的三個內開課。
申請人可於完成培訓課程後四個月內重考以達致所需基準。

The purpose of this course is to help
students develop understanding of straightforward business communications in English at an
elementary level, and the ability needed to carry out routine written
tasks. Students should have appreciation of letter-writing formulae and be able to
communicate in writing for simple and practical needs.

Understanding and writing of
simple internal and external business communications: written telephone messages;
memorandum; letters; facsimile
Completing or extracting information from business documents:
quotations; orders; requisitions; invoices
Communicating messages of acknowledge, confirmation, enquiry, thanks
Spoken English: travel arrangements; apologies; opinion; advice;
plans; describing articles; people and places; complaints; instructions

for Business Communications (Level 2) 中級商業英語
Suitable for:
Clerical Officer, Secretary & Executive
The purpose of this course is to help
students develop understanding of business communications in English at an intermediate
level, and the ability needed to carry out a series of written tasks concisely
and clearly. Students should have basic understanding of general business procedures and
be able to use English effectively and independently in all familiar situations.

Understanding and writing of internal and external business
communications: telex and facsimile; memoranda; simple information report; letters /
circular letters; press releases; written telephone messages; articles
Completing or extracting information from business documents:
quotations; orders; requisitions; invoices; travel itineraries, timetables; graphs and
charts
Communicating message of: request, enquiry, acknowledgement,
confirmation, complaint, apology, rejection, thanks, booking and offers of appointment
Spoken English: argumentation; process description; persuasion;
hypothesis; reason; current affairs

The purpose of this course is to help
students develop accuracy in the use and transcription of English at an elementary
level, to perform simple office related tasks in accordance with spoken and
written instructions.

Foundation English for office use:
grammar and syntax; spelling and punctuation; proof reading; vocabulary building
Functional skills: telephone manners and techniques; transfer spoken
message into written form; read simple instructions; follow procedures; complete forms and
orders; work out meanings from context; note taking; memos and circulars; referencing and
proof reading skills
Spoken English: getting information; polite responses; ordering;
spelling; pronunciation, asking about meaning

Secretary & Executive
The purpose of this course is to help
students develop accuracy in the use and transcription of English at an intermediate
level, to perform simple office related tasks in accordance with spolen and
written instructions.

Extended Foundation English for office use: grammar and syntax; spelling and
punctuation; proof reading; vocabulary building
Functional English for office duties:
Telephone enquiry / respond to special requests; organise booking
procedures; process incoming & outgoing mails; source of information; plan business
letters (basic formats and principles)
Spoken, English: polite responses / argument; describe routines / experience; plans
and arrangements; ticketing; permission; travel information / local information;

Trainer Profiles
Mandy Lam (B.A.), member of the Teachers of English to
Speakers of Other Languages; qualified Pitman English Examiner, has been contributing in
English language teaching and learning research for many years. She has worked at the
English Department and English Language Center in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University,
and is currently a lecturer at the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education.
